Wilshire ties a knot with Kosovars

___The Wilshire congregation had adopted the Albanian people as part of the Fellowship's Adopt-A-People missions program. Members were moved with compassion when the Earls described the Albanians' plight. And they wanted to do something about those shoestrings.
___So, a member of the church arranged for the shoe company where he works to donate 106,000 gross--that's 15,264,000 pair--of shoelaces for the refugees.
___Attention to the untied details of peoples' lives can offer an opportunity for sharing the gospel, said Karen Gilbert, Wilshire's minister of missions.
___Wilshire formed a team to coordinate the three-year partnership, established prayer groups, visited Albanians overseas to assess ministries, responded to 3,000 refugees resettling in Dallas and provided financial support for the Albanians.
___The congregation also involved its children this summer in a ministry to the Kosovar Albanians. Children attending Vacation Bible School donated teddy bears, and other members of the congregation made about 600 bears by hand. The Earls distributed all the bears to Kosovar children.
