___bluebull First Church in Thrall recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. The church also dedicated its new baptistery that day. David Gage is pastor.

___bluebull Buckner Fanning celebrated his 40th anniversary as pastor of Trinity Church in San Antonio Oct. 17.

___bluebull First Church in Devers will have a day of festivities Oct. 31. There will be a lunch following morning services. An afternoon of gospel singing will feature The Gospel Express and Third Cross. A Hallelujah Festival will be held that evening with hot dogs, a hayride and goodies for children. ___bluebull West Athens Church in Athens will not only celebrate its 65th anniversary but also its first anniversary at its present location Oct. 31. ___bluebull Cedar Heights Church in Cedar Hill will hold a carnival Oct. 30 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A puppet show will begin at 7 p.m. There is no charge. The church also will hold a fellowship meal followed by a concert by the gospel quartet The Canaan Heirs Oct. 31. The meal will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the concert at 6:30 p.m. Dewayne Finley is pastor.
___bluebull Robert Hunt, conductor of the Midland Symphony Orchestra, will perform a piano concert Oct. 31 at Cliff Temple Church in Dallas. Hunt is a former musician in the church. Glen Schmucker is pastor.
___bluebull University Church in Alpine will dedicate its building Oct. 31. The day will be celebrated with special speakers, a luncheon and dedication service. Bob Young is pastor.
___bluebull First Church in Kennedale will hold a fall festival from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31. The event will include games, food and prizes with no charge for any game, ride or drawing. The police department also will have a child identification program, and the fire department will have a smoke house demonstration. Bryan Eason is pastor.

___bluebull First Church of Euless has planned a series of events called the "Temple Project." Prior to the community grand opening of the church's new worship and education facilities Oct. 31, Pastor Claude Thomas will conduct leader and church dedication ceremonies. Other events include a live worship recording session Nov. 14 and a concert with the recording group Truth Nov. 28. The events will conclude with a fireworks display and festivities for all ages New Year's Eve on the church grounds.

___Retiring
___bluebull Ken Pittman will retire from the ministry Oct. 31 after serving more than 35 years as either pastor or minister of education to churches in Texas and Oklahoma. For the past seven years, he has served as pastor of Williams Road Church in Fort Worth. He will be available for supply and interims Jan. 1, 2000, and can be reached at (817) 249-0983.

___Deaths
___bluebull R.L. Walker, 95, Sept. 13. Walker was a deacon for more than 50 years and a charter member of Central Church in Crandall. He held varied positions in Kaufman Association. He is survived by five children, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
___bluebull Fred Thomas, 75, Oct. 10 in Fort Worth. Thomas was a retired pastor living in Bridgeport after 45 years of service. He had been pastor at Tye Church in Tye, First Church in Ganado, First Church in Winters, First Church in Rotan, First Church in Aspermont, First Church in Morton and First Church in Trenton. He is survived by his wife, Effie; son, Freddy; daughter, Jeana; and two grandsons.
