___ UMHB announces $13.5 million campaign. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor has launched a $13.5 million capital and endowment campaign titled "Challenge Beyond 2000--You are the Key!" The campaign aims to raise $4.5 million toward endowment and $9 million for facilities and capital improvements. The $9 million capital goal includes two new buildings at $4 million each and $1 million in renovations to existing facilities. The Parker Academic Center will be a new building for the schools of business and education. The university also plans to build a Convocation and Wellness Center.
___ Clarification: An article in last week's issue about a proposed amendment to the Baptist General Convention of Texas constitution indicated that members of the BGCT Executive Board are drawn from associations but failed to make explicitly clear that those associations do not nominate or elect representatives to the Executive Board.

___ Clarification: The biographical article on B.H. Carroll published in the Nov. 10 issue noted he divorced his first wife for infidelity in 1863. Due to space limitations and the context of the article, it was not noted that he then married Ellen Bell in 1866. She died 30 years later, and he married Hallie Harrison in 1899. Both Ellen and Hallie bore him children.
___ Oops! Last week's biographical article on Mary Hill Davis was accompanied by a photo of Olivia Davis, former executive director of Texas Woman's Missionary Union, rather than Mary Hill Davis. The photo at right is of Mary Hill Davis.
