___bluebull Santa Fe hires ACLJ. The Santa Fe Independent School District has chosen the American Center for Law and Justice as its counsel of record for Santa Fe Independent School District vs. Doe, the football prayer case to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. Jay Sekulow, the organization's chief counsel, will represent the Texas school district before the court. American Center for Law and Justice is a conservative religious liberty agency founded by broadcaster Pat Robertson.
___bluebull Correction: The Standard's Nov. 17 issue wrongly identified Lorenzo Peña as the state's first Hispanic director of associational missions. Actually, Omar Pachecano, who previously served El Paso Baptist Association, became the first Hispanic director of missions in Texas in 1989.
