___bluebull Lynnette Borman, assistant professor of voice for Hardin-Simmons University's School of Music, has been named "Singer of the Year" for the National Association of Teachers for Singing, Texoma region. She received a cash award as well as a partial scholarship to the American Institute of Musical Studies summer program in Graz, Austria.

HUNTERS' GLEN CHURCH in Plano recently broke ground on a 1,400-seat worship center. Texas Baptist Financial Services assisted in the $7.5 million package necessary for the expansion. Participating in the groundbreaking ceremony were Ron Shaw, F&S Partners, architects; Burt McGaughey, minister of administration and education; Kim Hall, pastor; Warren Barry of Julian Barry Construction; and Bob Reach, chairman of the building committee. The project is due to be completed in late fall 2000.

___bluebull First Church of Bridgeport will present the Living Christmas Tree Dec. 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. Bill Dye is pastor.

___Retiring
___bluebull Charles Richardson, pastor of First Church in Canton, will retire after 45 years in the ministry at the end of December. Prior to coming to Canton 34 years ago, he had been pastor at Emmanuel Church in Pittsburg. A recognition program will be held Dec. 11 at 2 p.m., followed by a reception from 3 to 5 p.m.
___bluebull Ron Lowry will retire after 48 years in the ministry Dec. 12. Lowry has served at Trinity Church in Kerrville for the last 12 years as minister of music and senior adults.
