Could you be a foster parent? ___Here are the basic criteria potential foster parents must meet with Buckner Foster Care: ___ You must be 21 years or older. ___ You may be married, single, divorced or widowed. ___ You must consent to a criminal background check and be financially self-sustaining, not relying on government or foster-care reimbursement support. ___ You must attend required training, participate in home study interviews and assessments and provide adequate sleeping space for children. ___ You must be active in a Christian church and exhibit "moral standards and ethics in line with the Christian faith." ___In return for opening their homes and hearts, foster parents receive assistance from their supporting agencies. This includes a daily reimbursement for expenses incurred by having a child in your home. Medicaid meets medical and dental needs.
