CENTRAL CHURCH IN HILLSBORO recently dedicated its newly purchased property for relocation. Around the State
___ Hardin-Simmons University's annual Cornerstone Series will feature Robert Campbell, pastor of Westbury Church in Houston, Feb. 15-17. He is a former chairman of the Baptist General Convention of Texas Executive Board.
___ Two Texans were among the graduates of Southeastern Seminary and College during the school's December commencement exercises. Todd Estes of Dallas received a master of theology degree, and Scott Scrimpsher of La Vernia received a bachelor of arts in biblical studies.
___ Eight Texans were among the December graduates of New Orleans Seminary. David Shipp of Austin received the master of divinity with languages degree. James Craft of Diboll received the master of divinity degree with a specialization in pastoral ministries studies. Darrell Lindsey received the bachelor of arts degree. Cliff Bennett, William Hansen and Andrea Mullins received the master of divinity degree. Terri Brown and Lesa Floyd received the women's ministry certificate.

___Deaths
___ Margie Rollins, 61, Dec. 26 in Leakey. Employed by Alto Frio Baptist Encampment, she was pianist for Frio Canyon Church in Leakey and served as WMU director for the church and Del-Rio Uvalde Assoc-iation. She formerly had been organist for First Church in Kerrville and Trinity Church in Kerrville. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie; one daughter; three sons; one sister; one brother; and six grandchildren.

___Events
___ Bellevue Church in Hurst will explore the Jewish heart of Christianity in a series of sessions Jan. 24-27. Steven Ger will lead the study. Participants will learn about the Jewish people, their faith and how it affects Christians. Sunday evening's session will begin at 6 p.m. and all others at 7 p.m. Benny Lewis is pastor.
___ Pueblo Nuevo Community Church of El Paso celebrated its constitution service Oct. 4 with 80 charter members. The church was a mission of Scotsdale Church of El Paso. Albert Reyes is pastor.
___ First Church in Kingsland recently celebrated the burning of the note for construction of the lower floor of the Family Life Center. The $55,000 note was paid off in 13 months. The building provides additional educational space and recreational facilities. Doug Lindley is pastor.
___ Carl Day, a former Texas pastor, will be honored with a 90th birthday celebration at Diamond Church in DeRidder, La., Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon.

___ Jim Gilbert has celebra-ted his fifth anniversary as pastor of First Church in Edna.
