___ Correction: Last week's overview article of the Texas Baptist Evangelism Conference incorrectly attributed two statements to Mount Vernon pastor Pepper Puryear. An illustration about the message of Christ being more important than the message of Coca-Cola should have been attributed to Billy Kim, and an illustration about Terry Nichols' conviction in the Oklahoma City bombing should have been attributed to Ellis Orozco.
___ Correction: An article in the Jan. 13 Standard about the agenda for the upcoming Texas legislative session contained an error. The article rightly said the legislature will consider a bill on parental notification before a minor may get an abortion. However, the article incorrectly stated that the Baptist General Convention of Texas in November passed a resolution in support of parental notification. The resolution adopted by the BGCT actually expressed support for parental consent, not just notification.
