100 volunteers needed for Australia trips
___At least 100 volunteers are needed July 22-Aug. 3 to help Australia Baptists reach their communities for Christ, according to Don Sewell, partnerships director for the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
___Thirty-one Baptist churches in Australia have asked for Texas Baptist volunteers to serve in the states of New South Wales (Sydney), Queensland (Brisbane) and Western Australia (Perth).
___Texas Baptist volunteers will preach in worship services, teach the Bible in Australian schools and participate in revivals, prayer walks, neighborhood outreach parties, Bible teas for women and men's breakfasts, and testimonies, Sewell said.
___The basic tour price of $1,999 includes round-trip air transportation, two nights in the Sheraton on the Park in downtown Sydney or a comparable hotel in Brisbane and a banquet in Sydney celebrating the lives touched through the partnership.
___Australia, which is geographically about the size of the continental United States, has about 18 million people, but it is a scarcely religious population.
___In 15 years, 11,000 Texas Baptist Partnership Missions volunteers have helped lead 36,000 people to Christ.
