___ First national RA director dies. Funeral services for Ivyloy "Jack" Bishop, 83, were held March 15 in Austin. Bishop died March 11 after a lengthy illness. In 1943, he became the first national director for the Royal Ambassador program for boys, then under the sponsorship of Woman's Missionary Union of the Southern Baptist Convention. During his 10-year tenure, he wrote the Royal Ambassador manuals and began the magazine Ambassador Life. Later he joined the teaching staff at Wayland Baptist University and became chairman of the religion and philosophy division.

___ BGCT tribute planned. Howard Payne University's music school will pay tribute to the Baptist General Convention of Texas in a special concert at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas April 6. The 8 p.m. concert is free, but will be preceded by a $20 per person dinner for alumni and friends at the Baptist Building. For dinner reservations or concert information, call (800) 255-4226.

___ Youth ministry workshop set. The annual youth ministry workshop at Howard Payne University is scheduled for April 5-8. Call (915) 649-8404.

___ Logan Templeton dies. Emeritus Southern Baptist missionary Logan Temple-ton died March 13 at age 71. He was a Lone Grove native married to the former Lounette Glover of Comanche County. The couple served as missionaries in Hong Kong, Japan and other parts of Asia.

___ Correction: The dates listed in last week's Standard for the two Upward Basketball training sessions in Texas were flip-flopped. The training event in Garland is May 28-29, and the event in San Antonio is Aug. 20-21.
