8 Texans appointed for international missions ___RICHMOND, Va.--Five couples or individuals with Texas ties were appointed to foreign mission service this month by the Southern Baptist Convention's International Mission Board. ___Ken and Janet Brownd will serve in Croatia, where the aftermath of civil war presents many opportunities for ministry. They will start churches and be involved in a variety of outreach ministries. ___Ken Brownd has been pastor of Town East Baptist Church in Mesquite since 1995. He is a Plainview native. ___David Crutchfield will serve in Romania, where 500 new churches have been started since the country's 1989 revolution. He will start and develop churches there. ___A member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Crutchfield recently served a short-term assignment as a volunteer in Romania. He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. ___John and Laura Littlefield will serve in France, where they will start and develop churches. ___The members of Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington recently completed a short-term assignment as mission volunteers in Russia and Bosnia. ___He is the son of Anda Beene of Bonham, where Seventh and Main Baptist Church is his home church. He is a graduate of Southwestern Seminary. ___Marty and Dena McAnally will serve in Peru, where they will start and develop churches. ___He is a former resident of Spring and Houston and is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and Southwestern Seminary. He also previously was director of multi-housing ministry for First Baptist Church of Houston and an announcer for KSBJ radio in Humble. ___Mrs. McAnally is the daughter of Khamsiane Pathoummaseng of Dallas. She previously was a teacher and sales clerk in Houston. ___Beth Wilson will serve as a missionary associate in Ukraine, which has the strongest and largest Baptist union in Europe. She will work with students. ___Wilson is the daughter of Ann Wilson of Hemphill, but she grew up in Orange and was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church. ___She is a graduate of Lamar University and previously was a teacher in Orange and youth director at First Baptist Church of Crystal Beach.
