Texas relief team heads to Albania to aid refugees ___A 12-member Texas Baptist Men volunteer team left Dallas last week to help Albanian Christians set up ministry centers for refugees fleeing Kosovo --provided the crew could make it into the region. ___At the request of the Southern Baptist International Mission Board, another Texas Baptist team--comprised entirely of physicians, nurses and medical technicians--was being enlisted to provide health care for displaced Albanian Kosovars in Tirana. ___The

| first team responded to a request from the coordinator of refugee response for the Albanian Evangelical Association. Working in cooperation with the IMB, the Texas Baptists planned to help set up refugee camps in Korce and then train Albanian Christians in their operation. The team expected to purify water, distribute food and provide medical aid for refugees. ___The Texas volunteers left Dallas April 14. After a layover in Memphis, they were scheduled to fly to Amsterdam and Athens before making their journey into Albania. ___Safe passage into Albania was still uncertain, however, due to a rising tide of anti-American sentiment. ___Contributions to the refugee relief effort may send designated checks, made payable to the Baptist Executive Board, to the Baptist General Convention of Texas, 333 N.
