Singing Men tour visible on-line ___Texas Baptists can take a mission trip to Spain without ever leaving their homes. ___The North Central Singing Men of Texas left April 19 for a 10-day musical mission trip to Spain. And they're posting the results of their trip on their Internet website every day, reported Don Blackley, minister of music at First Baptist Church in Richardson and director of the group. ___The website will feature highlights of the choir's ministry in eight Spanish cities. The website address is members.xoom.com/sford/ ___The 84-member group includes 55 members of the North Central Singing Men of Texas and some of their wives, plus a diplomatic entourage headed by Russell Dilday, president of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. ___During the trip, the diplomatic group--and sometimes the entire group--will be received in official reception in eight city halls. ___"The group, led by Dr. Dilday, will meet in three televised forums with mayors and bishops of Spanish cities. In these forums, the Baptist and Catholic leaders will discuss issues of common interest, such as family issues." ___The group's itinerary includes daily mini-concerts in the cathedrals of the cities, plus full-length evening concerts in theaters and opera houses. They also will perform at a prison where Southern Baptist missionary David Borgan holds weekly Bible studies and recently baptized 13 inmates. Jonathan Aragon, associate director of the Texas Baptist church music department, will emcee the concerts in Spanish. ___Bruce Berry of First Baptist Church in Killeen is president of the group. Charles McLeod of Prairie Creek Baptist Church in Plano is accompanist, and Lee Deeds of First Baptist Church in Gainesville is bell director.
