FAMILY MATTERS: God is sufficient to meet your needs ___
I have been blessed that my son, a pastor, has been able to live close to me. Now that my husband is gone, and my health is failing, my son is taking a church in another state. I don't understand God's timing and why he would move my son now. ___

| It is clear you understand what a blessing God has given you by allowing your son to be close by all these years. It never is easy to watch a loved one move away, but it is much harder to watch that person step out of the will of God. ___Your son is responding to God's touch and trusting God's grace to cover all parts of his life, including the part that includes you. It is wonderful that our Lord understands every ripple effect of his will in action, and he has all the "parts" under his grace and control. ___We Christians talk about the wonders of following God's will, and we can see so clearly what God's will is in the lives of others, but we draw back in fear when his will focuses on our lives or the ones we love. Remember, the opposite of fear is faith, and God will supply all you and your son need for this experience. ___As a Christian mother, you must lean heavily on the Lord. Your son needs your support and prayers and for you to believe in his ability to discern God's will. Verbally release him from any guilt in choosing God's leadership over his desire to stay near you. Then turn to yourself and ask God for the strength and discernment to know his will in your life. ___You have some decisions to make. Are you willing and physically able to stay in your home and find happiness and personal fulfillment, even if your family moves away? Do you have the friendships, church relationships and coping mechanisms to flourish in your family's absence? If you do, then give your son a kiss and start planning a visit. ___If you need more support, search out your options. It may be time to move and live with your son or another family member, or to move into a retirement or assisted-living community. Talk to your son about such a move. ___God does work everything to his good. Don't be afraid to ask God for his peace and understanding. Give your son your verbal blessing and encouragement. Know that God's will in your son's life is also God's will in yours. Get excited about what God is about to do in your life and the blessings he is about to send your way. ___ ___
