GRACE & PEACE: Encourage participation in Ministers' Wives' Retreat ___"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it" (Ephesians 5:25). ___Pastors and deacons, you have a marvelous opportunity to provide a terrific gift for the wife of each minister in your church and association--participation in the upcoming Ministers' Wives' Retreat. For the past several years, this event, which attracts hundreds of wives from throughout Texas, has been a source of joy, refreshment and inspiration.

| Surely you want the wives of the ministers of your churches to be part of the retreat. ___ When is the retreat? The time is from 1 p.m. Friday, April 23, through 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24. ___ Where will it be held? The place is Mount Lebanon Baptist Encampment, located just a few miles south of Dallas/Fort Worth Airport or Dallas Love Field and just off U.S. Highway 67 on the southern edge of Dallas. Additional information about transportation to and from airports is available as well as about travel via highways in cars, vans and buses. ___The setting of Mount Lebanon is beautiful, with rolling hills and an abundance of trees. The facilities are comfortable. The food is delicious. The staff is dedicated to serving the Lord Jesus Christ and those who come in his name. ___ Who is invited? The wife of any Baptist minister in Texas is invited--such as pastor, church (missions, education, music, youth, etc.) or associational staff, missionary, evangelist, denominational worker or chaplain. Part of the benefit is fellowship with people related to similar areas of ministry. ___ What will take place? Inspiration, fun and fellowship in abundance. Music, conferences and sharing will provide renewal and refreshment. New friendships will be established and existing ones enriched. ___ Why is the retreat provided? Those who give of themselves to serve others day after day deserve a time for renewal and reflection. The wives deserve a time just for themselves. ___ How is this made possible? Woman's Missionary Union of Texas and the ministers counseling and minister/church relations offices of the Baptist General Convention of Texas cooperate to sponsor the event. Due to their financial support, the cost of the retreat for each person is only $50, plus transportation. ___For registration and information on travel and other items, contact Woman's Missionary Union, 333 North Washington, Dallas 75246; phone (214) 828-5150; e-mail s_cofield@ bgct.org. But please hurry, because space is limited. ___Surely every minister's wife in Texas ought to have the opportunity to be part of this refreshing retreat. ___A number of people can help this to happen. Directors of missions can encourage pastors, deacons and church members to provide the funds necessary and perhaps arrange for group transportation for people from the association. Where children are in the home, church members can volunteer to assist in their care.. Every husband can encourage his wife to participate. ___Please pray for the Minis-ters' Wives' Retreat. Pray for those who will speak and lead conferences. And pray for churches and associations to encourage wives to attend.
