___ Hillside Church in Electra, formerly Midway Church, will celebrate 76 years of ministry May 29-30. Activities on Saturday will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and include a 5 p.m. sandwich supper. ___ West Mesquite Church in Mesquite will celebrate its 45th anniversary May 23. William McGregor, a former youth minister, will be the guest speaker, and gospel singing groups comprised of former members will lead music. ___ A reception to celebrate the 50 years of ministry of J.P. Skinner will be held at 7 p.m. May 25 at First Church in Hooks.
___ Bill Louthan recently celebrated 20 years of service as minister of music at First Church in Midlothian.
___ Susan Womack celebrated 25 years as minister of preschool education at Tallowood Church in Houston May 16.
___Deaths
___ Loren Williams, 76, May 10 in Plano. Williams was pastor of churches in Florida, Georgia and California. He held staff positions in California, Florida and Ohio as well as Dallas and San Antonio. Williams also served as associate secretary of the Florida Baptist Convention, special consultant for the Sunday School Board, conference leader at Glorieta and Ridgecrest. He also was a licensed professional counselor, volunteer chaplain and leader of the senior adult choir for Collin Association. At the time of his death, he was director of church services and helping ministries for Collin Association. His wife, Mary Lou; two daughters; two sons; two sisters; and seven grandchildren survive him.
