Churches recognized for contributions ___WICHITA FALLS--Five Hispanic Baptist churches received honors as the top contributors to the Cooperative Program unified budget during the 89th annual meeting of the Hispanic Baptist Convention, June 28-30. ___Glenn Majors, director of Cooperative Program services for the Baptist General Convention of Texas, presented certificates and plaques to representatives of the churches. ___The top churches were: ___ 1-50 resident members: Mision Bautista Nueva Vida in Mount Pleasant; Jose L. Mancera, pastor. The church gave $2,452 through the CP. ___ 51-100 resident members: Primera Iglesia Bautista in Mathis; Robert M. Salinas, pastor; $5,129. ___ 101-150 resident members: First Mexican Baptist Church in Dallas; Rudy Sanchez, pastor; $18,806. ___ 151-250 resident members: Iglesia Bautista Stonegate in Alice; Alfredo G. Benavides, pastor; $11,137. ___ 251 or more resident members: Primera Iglesia Bautista in Corpus Christi; Mateo Rendon, pastor; $19,553.
