AROUND THE STATE
___ A group of 49 volunteers recently spent two weeks serving in 18 churches in the Ukraine. More than 800 professions of faith were reported, along with 5,000 Bibles distributed, and more than $18,000 was given for church construction and pastoral training. Taylor Henley of San Angelo led the group.

FIRST CHURCH IN ALEDO recently held dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremonies for its new preschool and children's building. The two-story, 11,000-square-foot structure will house 17 classrooms. Kenneth Hensley, architect and overseer of the project, cut the ribbon. Lee Brewer is pastor.
