Kelly Moseley of Lindale recently celebrated 50 years in the ministry. Moseley began his ministry at Damascus Church in Lindale and went on to lead churches in four Texas associations and well as churches in Colorado and South Dakota. He still is active in supply, interims and revivals.

Kyle Childress has celebrated his 10th anniversary as pastor of Austin Heights Church in Nacogdoches.

Jeff Williams recently celebrated 10 years in the ministry, the last two years as pastor of First Church in Denton.

Joan Feeler recently celebrated 10 years as minister to preschool at First Church in Denton.

Robert Graham and his wife, JoAnn, will mark their 25th anniversary of ministry with Field Street Church in Cleburne Aug. 29. The church will honor them with a special service that day, and a luncheon will be held following the morning service.

First Church in Schulenburg will celebrate its 125th anniversary Aug. 29. A fellowship breakfast, catered lunch and afternoon worship service have been planned. ___Deaths
___
Woodson Armes, 87, Aug. 11 in Dallas. Armes served on the faculty of Baylor University and as pastor of First Church in Hewitt concurrently until accepting the full-time pastorate at Seventh & James Church in Waco. He later moved to become pastor of Polytechnic Church in Fort Worth, which grew to over 4,000 members. He also served as president of the Texas Baptist Training Union Convention and was convention preacher at the 1952 and 1964 meetings of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. He served on either the board of Baylor University or Baylor University Hospital for 25 years. Armes later moved to El Paso to become pastor of First Church in that city, until in 1968 he became executive secretary of the Christian Education Commission for Texas Baptists. His wife of 61 years, Sybil; three children; and two grandchildren survive him.

John Garrett, 82, July 30 in Lufkin. Garrett was a pastor in Texas for 54 years. A native of Jack County, he also served in World War II. A daughter and a son survive him.

Eulogio Garza, 82, May 6 in Floresville. Garza served as a home missionary for more than 30 years in Brownsville, San Antonio and southern California. After retirement as a home missionary, he continued to serve churches in the San Antonio area and held various offices in the Mexican Baptist Convention of Texas. He also served as second vice president of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. He was instrumental in founding Hispanic Theological Seminary and the Baptist Children's Home in San Antonio. His wife of 56 years, Victoria; three sons; one daughter; two grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters survive him.

Billy Souther, 90, June 21 in Kingston, Idaho. Souther served as minister of music and education at First Church in San Antonio and First Church in Dallas as well as an Alexandria, La., church. In 1960 he joined the faculty of New Orleans Seminary and served as professor of church administration until his retirement in 1974. In retirement, he served as a consultant in church music and education for the Utah-Idaho Convention. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mildred. His wife, Maxine; one son; one daughter; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren survive him.

Kenneth Emerson will retire at University Church in Arlington after 48 years in the ministry Oct. 1. Emerson was pastor of a church in Byers, and of Eden Hills Church in Wichita Falls prior to becoming the assistant to the pastor at First Church in Wichita Falls. He then moved to a church in Germany before returning to the states to be pastor of a church in Kansas. He has been pastor of University Church for more than nine years.

J.W. Fortner has announced his retirement as business administrator of Trinity Church in San Antonio after more than 38 years of service to the church.

A reception honoring Connie Rose for 26 years as church secretary will be held Aug. 27 at 2:30 p.m. at First Church in Gladewater.
