___bluebull Marketplace Ministries is celebrating 15 years of ministry at work with an integrity award banquet at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Dallas Wyndham Anatole Hotel. ___bluebull Two Texans were among recent graduates of Beeson Divinity School in

PASTOR LARRY YORK (left) of Crossroads Church in The Woodlands presents a check for $10,000 to Pastor Mike Hamilton of Regency Park Church in Moore, Okla. Regency Park was destroyed by the May 3 tornado that devastated the Oklahoma City area. Crossroads Church is a key church that places missions as a high priority in its ministries.
Birmingham, Ala. Mark Jones of Tyler received the doctor of ministry degree, and Thomas Howe of Atlanta received the master of divinity degree.
___bluebull Houston Baptist University recently honored four members of its staff and faculty. Richard Parker, vice president for financial affairs, and Judy Ferguson, secretary for the college of education and behavioral sciences, were the recipients of the Ray Mayfield Outstanding Staff Award. James Taylor, dean of the college of arts and humanities, and Jacqueline Horn, associate professor of biology, received the Opal Goolsby Outstanding Faculty Award.
___bluebull Dallas Baptist University has announced faculty and staff appointments. Assistant to the Provost Sonya Payne has been named dean of students; Denny Dowd, assistant professor of education, also is director of the master of education program; Lynda Jackson is director of the master of liberal arts program; Rollin Mayes is assistant professor of Spanish; Carolyn Monk is graduation officer; and Doug Williams is director of the computer and technology department.
___bluebull Fred Hills of Hewitt, the spring outstanding student, was one of 11 graduates at Truett Seminary's summer commencement ceremonies Aug. 14.
___bluebull Pineywoods Encampment in Woodlake will hold its Fall Senior Adult Camp Oct. 4-6. Darryle Dunks, associate pastor of senior adults at Green Acres Church in Tyler, is camp preacher. Bob Davis, Southern Baptist Convention missionary, is Bible study leader. Curtis Mathis is the camp director. Register Monday at 9:30 a.m., and camp concludes with the noon meal on Wednesday. $45 is the cost for the three days and seven meals.

___Retiring
___bluebull W.D. Broadway has retired as pastor of Mount Calvary Church in Conroe and as director of Interfaith of The Woodlands, a church-planning agency. He and his wife, Hugh Delle, now live at 3501 Chisholm Trail, Salado 76571. He is available for church fundraising and for pulpit supply and interims. He can be contacted at (254) 947-9237.

___Deaths
___bluebull Joseph Buth, 78, June 19 in Haltom City. Buth was pastor of Texas and Louisiana churches for 35 years. A native of Gatesville, he also served in World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary; one daughter, Deborah; two sons, Rodney and Joe Jr.; and four grandchildren.
___bluebull Doyle Ryan, 58, Aug. 16 in El Paso. Ryan was pastor of Mountain View Church in El Paso for the last 17 years. He completed 44 years of ministry Aug. 1. He previously was pastor of First Church in Redwater. Prior to that he was Baptist Student Union director at the University of Texas-Medical Branch in Galveston. While attending seminary in Fort Worth, he was pastor of Crusaders Chapel for the Handicapped. He is survived by his wife, Omalee; two daughters, Christy and Tracy; and son, Eric.

___bluebull Danny Cowart will celebrate 10 years as minister of church life and median adults at Fairview Church in Sherman Sept. 1.
___bluebull Paul Miller will celebrate 50 years as pastor of Trinity Church in Odessa Sept. 5.
___bluebull Trinity Church in Lubbock will celebrate its 50th anniversary Sept. 11-12. A brunch will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in which former staff will share their memories of the church. A coffee and anniversary program will be held that afternoon beginning at 5 p.m., featuring former pastors Francis Wilson and George Ray. Sunday's worship will begin at 9 a.m. and will feature former pastors Bob Utley and Melvin Ratheal. A catered lunch and special afternoon service will follow. Terry Sanders is pastor.
___bluebull Shadow Hills Church of Lubbock will celebrate its 10th anniversary Sept. 11-12. Saturday evening will include a pie supper and fellowship. Pastor George Ray of Trinity Church in Lubbock, Shadow Hills' sponsoring church when it began as a mission, will preach Sunday morning. A catered luncheon will follow. Gene Hawkins, director of missions for Lubbock Association at the time the church started, will speak at the luncheon. Walter Goodnight also will celebrate his 10th year as the church's pastor.
___bluebull First Church in Hutchins will celebrate its 95th anniversary Sept. 12. A musical program featuring present and former members begins at 10:15 a.m., followed by worship with Roy Teague as speaker and Sonny Rios leading music. A lunch will follow. Joel Harris is pastor.
