The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship will hold an open house for its World A Link office in Dallas Oct. 3 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The ribbon cutting will be at 3 p.m. This office houses CBF's Adopt a People, North American Mobilization and prayer ministries. ___ First Church of Mount Vernon will celebrate its 150th anniversary Oct. 2-3. A history of the church is being compiled, and people with information or photographs are asked to call (903) 537-2322. Pepper Puryear is pastor.
___ First Church of O'Donnell will celebrate its 85th anniversary Oct. 2-3. On Saturdayat 6:30 p.m., a meal and celebration service will be held. A timeline of events that will include pictures and documents in the life of the church and other articles of interest will be on hand. ___ Tabernacle Church in Ennis will celebrate its 100th anniversary Oct. 2-3. Saturday's activities will begin at 5 p.m., and Sunday's morning service will be followed by a barbecue dinner. ___ Oak Ridge Church in Marietta will celebrate its 120th anniversary with a homecoming Oct. 3. James Day, a former pastor of the church, will preach during the morning service. ___ Danny Howe will celebrate his 10th anniversary as pastor of First Church in Saginaw Oct. 3. In addition to honoring him and his family in the morning service, there will be a dinner and activities at 5:30 p.m. at Highland Middle School. ___Retiring
___ After 12 years as pastor of Eastside Church in Rusk and 45 years in ministry, Newton Hambrick will retire Sept. 30. He is available for supply, revival, Bible conference, or as interim or bivocational pastor. He can be contacted at (903) 683-2928.

___ Duffau Church in Duffau will dedidate its expanded sanctuary and education space Oct. 3 in conjunction with a celebration of the church's 121 years of service. Dedication will take place at 1:30 p.m. after a fellowship meal. Trey Turner is pastor.
___ Mount Calvary Church of Marysee in Hull will hold a homecoming Oct. 3. Leon Cowart will be the guest preacher. A luncheon and afternoon concert featuring the Martins also will be held. Carlton Bailey is pastor.
___Deaths
___ Thelma Medford, Aug. 30 in Azle. She was the wife and partner of evangelist Jack Medford. She worked with children and youth during their revival meetings. The couple also started a number of churches in Bell Association. She also served as a Mission Service Corps volunteer for nine years. She is survived by her husband and daughter.
___ Samuel DeBord, 70, Sept. 7, in Houston. DeBord founded the first Baptist seminary in East Africa during his time as a missionary to Tanzania from 1956 to 1966. He also served at the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board and later was pastor of churches in Louisiana and Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marthena. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his children, Doug and David DeBord and Melany and Jarrett Roberts; sister, Vera Jean Parrott, brother, Raleigh; and one grandson.
