Wade names six coordinators
___Six administrators to lead the newly reorganized units of the Baptist General Convention of Texas staff were named by Executive Director Charles Wade Sept. 26. Wade's nominees were affirmed by the BGCT Executive Board.
___E.B. Brooks will serve as coordinator of the church missions and evangelism section. Brooks has worked for the BGCT for 20 years, for the last 10 years as director of the Church Starting Center.
___Lynn Eckeberger will be coordinator of the church health and growth section. Eckeberger has worked with the BGCT since 1996, beginning as director of the River Ministry and then becoming associate director of the State Missions Commission.
___Lorenzo Peña will become coordinator of the associational missions and administration section. Peña has been director of missions for El Paso Baptist Association since November 1993. He previously served as associate director of that association.
___The remaining three administrators will fill positions similar to their existing roles.
___Keith Bruce will become coordinator of the institutional ministries section. He has been director of the Christian Education Coordinating Board and in recent months has carried additional responsibilities as interim director of the Human Welfare Coordinating Board.
___Phil Strickland will be coordinator of the Christian ethics and public life section. He has been director of the BGCT Christian Life Commission.
___Roger Hall will be coordinator of the financial management section, a continuation of his role as the BGCT's chief financial officer.
___Others on Wade's leadership council will include a director of communications yet to be named, Executive Associate Dick Maples, Human Resources Director Chris Liebrum, Texas Woman's Missionary Union Executive Director Joy Fenner and Texas Baptist Men Executive Director Jim Furgerson.
