Missions groups to meet
___CORPUS CHRISTI--Inspiration, business and recognitions will characterize the annual meetings of Woman's Missionary Union of Texas and Texas Baptist Men Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Bayfront Plaza Convention Center in Corpus Christi.
___The annual meetings of the two organizations are part of the annual session of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, scheduled Oct. 30-31, also at the Bayfront Plaza Convention Center. The WMU and TBM meetings will begin at 1:30 p.m., during a break in BGCT events.
___"God's Plan ... Our Part," is the theme for the 120th annual meeting of Texas WMU.
___A new president will be elected to succeed Jeane Law of Lubbock, who has served the four one-year terms allowed. A new executive director-elect, to succeed retiring executive Joy Fenner, also is scheduled to be presented.
___Fenner, who retires Feb. 28, will give her final report during the annual meeting and will be honored with a reception Monday night.
___Featured during the meeting will be presentations by Dellanna O'Brien, former executive director of national WMU, and her husband, Bill.
___Also featured will be a report on Texas Partnerships by WMU Associate Executive Director Carolyn Porterfield and Don Sewell, director of Texas Partnerships for the BGCT. The president of WMU for the Baptist Union of Spain also will be recognized.
___"Shoulder to Shoulder" is the theme of 32nd annual meeting of Texas Baptist Men.
___Three men will be honored with the Parabolani Awards, which are presented annually to those who have been risk takers in doing missions and ministry.
___Another feature will be the presentation of a report on Victim Relief Ministries, the newest ministry launched by the men's group. Joe Mosley of Dallas will present the report. Gene Grounds of Dallas is coordinator of the ministry.
___Eight volunteers will give testimonies of the various activities in which they have been involved during the past year.?
