___Texas Baptists can become the missing part of a missionary equation in Spain.
___A new partnership between the Baptist General Convention of Texas and Spanish Baptists will begin Jan. 1, 2001, said Don Sewell, director of Texas Partnerships for the BGCT. It is a three-year partnership, potentially renewable for three more years, if both parties agree.

Texans asked to box up their love
___FORT WORTH--Texas churches have been asked to help Franklin Graham send 110,000 shoeboxes of love to children around the world this Christmas.
___The Texas contribution will be part of 4 million shoebox packages distributed this year through Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse.

___Texas is leading the nation in the population growth of its cities, and that translates into increased missions opportunities, according to a leader of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
___The U.S. Census Bureau released new population estimates Oct. 20 that show Texas having three of the nation's top six metropolitan areas in population increase over the last decade. Full Story

___Southern Baptist Convention leaders have been concerned about the "situation in Texas" for at least five years, according to minutes of a 1995 meeting obtained by the Baptist Standard.
___The four-paragraph document, titled "Atlanta Minutes, May 26, 1995, 12:00 Noon," is signed by Paige Patterson, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C.
