Wayland professors lead Holy Land trip. Religion and philosophy faculty members from Wayland Baptist University will lead a study tour of Israel and Egypt next summer. The Bible Lands Study Pilgrimage is an 11-day journey to Israel departing Lubbock May 20 and returning May 30. The tour of Egypt is an optional extension May 29 to June 3. Academic tour leaders include Fred Meeks, Glyndle Feagin, Carolyn Ratcliffe and Jimmy Fikes. Students may earn college credit for the study tour, although non-students are welcome also. HSU to honor Martin. Gerald Martin of Lindale will receive the Keeter Alumni Service Award from Hardin-Simmons University during homecoming festivities Oct. 20-22. Martin is an evangelist, former college president and chancellor and former pastor of churches in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and Tennessee.

Lotz receives honorary degree. Dallas Baptist University bestowed the honorary doctor of humanities degree Sept. 27 on Denton Lotz, general secretary of the Baptist World Alliance. Lotz also spoke at the university's convocation that day.

UMHB homecoming planned. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor has scheduled fall homecoming the week of Oct. 30, leading up to a homecoming football game against Hardin-Simmons University at 2 p.m. Nov. 4. For more information, call (254) 295-5054.

Wade speaking at Baylor. Baylor University will present its 19th annual Bible conference Oct. 13-14, co-sponsored by Waco Baptist Association. Charles Wade, executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, will serve as guest preacher for the conference and will lead one Bible study session. Baylor religion faculty members Sharyn Dowd, John Jonsson and Charles Talbert will lead this year's Bible study sessions, which will focus on the book of James. Ed Wittner, former minister of music at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, will be the music leader.
