In Bangladesh, looking for the man of peace
___"When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house." (Luke 10:5-7)

___Omar Garcia, minister of missions at Bear Creek Baptist Church in Houston, didn't know what to think when a missionary in Bangladesh said to him, "Let's go out and find that 'man of peace' who might reach his whole village for Christ."
___But he went along.
___Just as the first disciples sent out by Jesus, Garcia and the missionary took no provisions with them and had no plan in mind as they went out in search of the man of peace. They took no food or water and only a change of clothes in a backpack.
___"It was a little bit unnerving, putting a backpack on my back and just starting to walk without knowing where we would sleep, not knowing what we would eat, not knowing what the day might hold," Garcia said.
___The men walked most of the day until they entered a village and two brothers came to them in the street and said, "We want you to come to our house."
___Garcia said the men were important men in the village, and their house was right across the street from the mosque.
___"Within minutes, the house was surrounded by people. They had already filled the house and were standing in the doorway, and there were faces in every window," Garcia recalled.
___"They stood there for hours listening to the stories of Jesus--the stories of the New Testament, the stories that bridge from the Bible and the Koran. They stayed throughout the night until we finally went to bed," Garcia said.
___There was so much interest that arrangements were made for a local evangelist to come to the village to tell them more about Jesus.
___"It was one of the richest experiences of my life," Garcia said. "It opened a whole new horizon of opportunities for missions to me. Just throw the backpack on and see what people you meet."
