Evangelism Conference speakers announced

___The lineup of speakers for January's Texas Baptist Evangelism Conference includes an international evangelist, a New York pastor, a Southern Baptist agency president, a seminary professor, a Texas pastor and a theological school president.
___The conference will change locations this year, moving to the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio Jan. 29-30, said Bailey Stone, evangelism director for the Baptist General Convention of Texas. In recent years, the conference has been held in Fort Worth.
___Featured speakers at the conference will include:
___ Luis Palau, an evangelist from Argentina.
___ Jim Cymbala, pastor of Brooklyn Tabernacle in New York.
___ Jimmy Draper, president of LifeWay Christian Resources.
___ Thom Rainer, dean of the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism and Church Growth at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
___ Jim Denison, pastor of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas.
___ Albert Reyes, president of Hispanic Baptist Theological School in San Antonio.
___Draper and Palau will speak Monday in the 6:45 p.m. session. Reyes, Rainer and Denison will speak Tuesday in the 8:45 a.m. session. Cymbala will speak twice Tuesday evening. Conference participants will choose between a 4 p.m. session and 7:30 p.m. session.
___Palau, who has preached to an estimated 13.6 million people in 69 countries, has led evangelistic crusades in 20 cities in the United States, including San Antonio and Fort Worth. The Wall Street Journal in a 1995 article called Palau "the Billy Graham of everywhere." He speaks both English and Spanish.
___Cymbala has led Brooklyn Tabernacle to grow from a handful of members to thousands today. His two books, "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" and "Fresh Faith," have been Christian bestsellers. Cymbala spoke at last year's Evangelism Conference and drew a full house.
___Draper, before going to LifeWay, had been pastor of five Texas Baptist churches, including First Baptist Church of Euless. He is a former trustee of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a graduate of Southwestern and Baylor University.
___Rainer teaches evangelism and church growth courses at Southern Seminary.
___Denison, a Houston native, has been pastor of Park Cities two years. A former professor at Southwestern Seminary, he has been pastor of two other Texas churches--First Baptist of Midland and New Hope Baptist of Mansfield. He is a graduate of Houston Baptist University and Southwestern Seminary.
___Reyes is the sixth president of the Hispanic school. He was a Texas Baptist pastor for 13 years, including experience as a church planter and educator. Reyes began his missionary experience in 1977 through the Rio Grande River Ministry, and he has ministered in Mexico, Brazil, Spain and Morocco. He holds degrees from Angelo State University and Southwestern Seminary.
