Pageant has bilingual focus ___VICTORIA--At least one Texas Baptist church's Christmas pageant will have an Oriental flair this year. ___Northside Baptist Church in Victoria will employ members of its Chinese church to insert a measure of Oriental choreography into the production. ___The church also will seek specifically to reach the community's Chinese population with a program that includes the plan of salvation written in Chinese. ___"We have a significant Oriental population of Taiwanese, Mainland Chinese and Vietnamese," said Mickey Ewing, associate pastor for worship. ___The church is hopeful the Christmas production will help it reach out to the Oriental community and bring new prospects to the Chinese congregation of about 50 people who meet in the church's facilities each week. ___"The Chinese church that meets on-site here is kind of an interesting thing, because it's made up of both Taiwanese and Mainland Chinese. On the other side of the world these people might be enemies, but here they are worshipping together," Ewing pointed out. ___The pageant will be presented Dec. 4-10 at 6:30 and 8:15 p.m., and an open dress rehearsal will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 3.
