___ Freeway Church in Beaumont will hold its fourth annual Sovereign Grace Bible Conference Jan. 13-16, affirming doctrines known as Calvinism. "An Ancient Book for a New Age" will be the theme of the conference that will begin at 7 p.m. each night and also include an 11 a.m. Sunday service. Speakers will be R.J. Revels, pastor of Mount Olive Church in Dayton; Matthew McKellar, pastor of Sylvania Church in Tyler; John McGuire, pastor of First Church in Garrison; Rick Garner, director of alumni/church relations at Criswell College in Dallas; and Danny Akin, dean of theology at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky. ___ A conference on biblical prophecy will be held Jan. 16-19 at Birchman Church in Fort Worth. Rocky Freeman, adjunct professor at Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary, will be the featured speaker. Sessions will be held at 10:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. The schedule for Monday through Wednesday will be a conference lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, and a conference supper from 6 to 6:30 p.m. followed immediately by another conference from 6:30 until 8 p.m. each evening. ___ Emmett Linebarger, 77, Nov. 18 in Georgetown. Linebarger was pastor of Indian Creek Church in Brownwood, First Church in Thrall and Ranchland Heights Church in Midland. Following his retirement in 1965 he was a member of Gambrell Street Church in Fort Worth and served as a supply preacher in West Texas. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eva; daughter, Sharon; son, Ron; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers and two sisters.
___ Theo McKinney, 90, Dec. 14 in Sweetwater. She was the wife of Lester McKinney, pastor of several East Texas churches. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann; son, Michael; two grandsons; and five great grandchildren.
