Four Texans among 38
missionaries sent by IMB
___RICHMOND, Va.--Four people with Texas ties are among the 38 missionaries appointed by the International Mission Board Jan. 10. The appointments were made during a service at Lakeview Baptist Church in Auburn, Ala.
___bluebull Kevin and Myra Daugherty will serve at the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary. He will be a professor of theology, and she will use her administrative and service skills.
___Since 1995, he has been pastor at an Arkansas church, and she has worked as the office manager of a medical clinic.
___Churches influential in their spiritual growth include Handley Baptist Church, Wedgwood Baptist Church and Springdale Baptist Church, all in Fort Worth, where he was born.
___His father, Sammie Daugherty, was a Fort Worth pastor for several years.
___bluebull Charley Pitchford Jr. will serve as a church planter in Albania. He will work to spread Christianity through the predominantly Muslim culture.
___He also has served in Albania and Bosnia through International Service Corps, a short-term missions program of the IMB.
___Currently, he is a member of Birchman Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
___bluebull Benjie Potter will serve in the Crimea Republic in the Ukraine on a church-planting team.
___He is pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Linden. Other churches instrumental in his spiritual growth are First Baptist Church in Cason and First Baptist Church in Benbrook.
___He was born in Marshall to Thomas and Jane Potter of Kildare. His father has been pastor of several Southern Baptist churches.
___With nearly 16 million members, the Southern Baptist Convention is the largest evangelical denomination in the United States, and the Internation Mission Board is the largest evangelical missionary-sending agency.
