___bluebull Highland Lakes Encampment in Spicewood recently held its annual board retreat. A highlight of the meeting was the presentation of plaques for the Art Little awards for outstanding volunteer service to the encampment. The recipients were Clyde and Lois Bunch and Fred

FIRST CHURCH IN GEORGETOWN recently broke ground for a new worship center. The project includes construction of a 1,650-seat worship center, a choir rehearsal area, senior adult Sunday School space and a prayer tower. Completion is slated for January 2001. Emily Denison and Noami Sweet listened as pastor Jim Haskell preached on the role of the church during the ceremony.

of Austin Association; Alvin Jirasek of Bell Association; and John Burgess of Burnet-Llano Association. The Olen Miles award was presented to Bell Association for outstanding leadership in the development of ministries for the encampment.

___Retiring
___bluebull Leonard Molone, director of missions for Caprock-Plains Area, has submitted notice of his retirement, effective Dec. 31. He will live in the Tyler area and will be available for intentional interim, conflict management and supply preaching.
___bluebull Bryan Price will retire Jan. 16 after 43 years of ministry in music. He is presently serving as minister of music and senior adults at First Church in Pittsburg. He has been there the past 18 years. He served as the first audio-visual director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. He will be available for supply at (903) 856-7323.
___bluebull W.A. Bradshaw will retire from the Baptist Convention of New Mexico Feb.1. He served churches in Texas, Kansas, Louisiana and New Mexico before becoming the New Mexico music and recreation director in 1981. In 1986, he was also named state student ministries director. ___bluebull Helen Vogt. She was the wife of Weldon Vogt, former education director at Gambrell Street Church in Fort Worth and Belmead First Church in Waco and an

Louthan and Brown both were commissioned as Mission Service Corps volunteers of the North American Mission Board by the church. For its involvement in Mission Hale Center, First Church was selected to receive the Salt and Light award given annually by the church ministries department of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

___bluebull Barbara DuBose, 77, Nov. 16 in Anson. She was the wife of Hassel DuBose, who served as minister of music and education at First Church in Sweetwater, Pierce Street Church in Amarillo (now Second Church), and churches in Kentucky and California. They were members at First Church in Anson following retirement. She is survived by her husband; son, Dennis; daughter, Diane; two grandsons; and one brother.

___bluebull The 11th annual Conroe Area Bible Conference will be held Jan. 5-7 at Mims Church in Conroe. Speakers include Ron Dunn, Bill Stafford and Junior Hill. Music will be led by Greater Vision, the Jim Bob Griffin Family and the Mims Church choir and orchestra. There will be sessions at 7 p.m. each evening and at 9:30 a.m. and noon on Thursday and Friday.
