Work pauses on Texas Baptist Men facility
___DALLAS--Volunteers temporarily have stopped work on the Texas Baptist Men mission center in east Dallas due to lack of funding. But the pause in construction is providing the group an opportunity to work on an unscheduled project for Mission Arlington.
___Construction of the Robert Dixon Missions Training Center is about two-thirds complete, according to Jim Furgerson, executive director of Texas Baptist Men. The building is "in the dry," but another $250,000 is needed to finish the project.
___Furgerson acknowledged the delay is "discouraging" for the building volunteers, who have come from around the state. However, the hiatus is allowing them an opportunity to complete a three-week project for Mission Arlington.
___Donors should make checks payable to "Texas Baptist Men" and mail them to 333 N. Washington, Dallas 75246-1798.
