___Anniversaries
___bluebull First Church of Bedford will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a reception for current and past staff and members Feb. 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. For more information, call (817) 283-5359.
Plano
FIRST CHURCH IN PLANO recently broke ground for the Travis and Bernice Berry Building. Travis Berry was pastor of the church for 22 years before retiring 14 years ago. The two-story building will feature 16 adult Sunday School classrooms with space for 470 people, a fellowship hall that will accommodate 400, and a restaurant-quality kitchen. Participating in the ceremony were Pastor Michael Riley, Bernice Berry, Travis Berry, architect Ron Shaw and Jerry Allen, chairman of the building committee.
___bluebull Bateman Church in Red Rock will celebrate its 45th anniversary Feb. 13. A meal and a brief program will follow the morning service. Keith Hood is pastor.

___bluebull Westmoreland Heights Church in Dallas has begun a divorce recovery seminar. It will meet each Sunday afternoon from 4 to 5:30 p.m. through April 30. For more information, call (214) 331-4489. Ted Kiser is pastor.
___bluebull Pam Moore will be the speaker for Joy Seekers women's conference Feb. 25-26 at First Church in Center. Moore was secretary for Brother Andrew, "God's Smuggler," for seven years, handling English correspondence for his ministry based in The Netherlands which transported Bibles and Christian literature into Communist countries where they were prohibited. In 1976, she became the companion for Corrie Ten Boom, the famed World War II concentration camp survivor, until her death in 1983. Moore has written books about her experiences and now serves as director of spiritual life at Dallas Baptist University. Registration for the conference is $20 and should be mailed to FBC Joy Seekers Conference, 117 Cora Street, Center 75935. Childcare for children 5 years old and younger is available for a small fee, and a sack lunch will be provided for them. Registration will begin at 6 p.m. Friday and at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. ___Retiring
___bluebull Gene Grace has retired at Lake Limestone Church in Thornton after serving as the church's pastor for five years, and 50 years in the ministry.
___bluebull John Embry, church extension director for the Baptist Convention of New Mexico, has retired. Embry also served as a missionary with the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board and as pastor of several churches, including Bluegrove Church in Bluegrove and Martin Church in Clarendon. A meal and program honoring him will be held Feb. 18 at First Church in Albuquerque, N.M. Deadline for the $8 tickets is Feb. 14.
