North Texas women's revival planned with Lotz & Arthur

___FORT WORTH--North Texas Baptist women from across the denominational spectrum are providing key leadership for an interdenominational two-day revival in Fort Worth featuring keynote speaker Anne Graham Lotz of AnGel Ministries and Bible study leader Kay Arthur of Precepts Ministries International.
___Janet Denison, whose husband, Jim, is pastor at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, is chairwoman of the local steering team for the "Just Give Me Jesus" Revival May 5-6 at
lotz
ANNE GRAHAM-LOTZ
the Tarrant County Convention Center. In addition to Lotz and Arthur, the revival also will feature author/prayer leader Jill Briscoe and singer-songwriter Fernando Ortega.
___Joining Denison on the revival team are Susie Hawkins, wife of Annuity Board President O.S. Hawkins; Sheila Cook, whose husband, Gary, is president of Dallas Baptist University; and Paula Hearon, wife of Dallas Baptist Association Director of Missions Gary Hearon.
___Other Texas Baptists on the 18-member steering team are Debra Hochgraber, women's evangelism consultant with the Baptist General Convention of Texas; Simone Monroe, women's ministry director at First Baptist Church of Dallas; Ann Quest, a member of Park Cities Baptist Church and representative of Dallas Prayer Ministries; and Ann Stricklin, whose husband, Gil, is founder of Marketplace Ministries.
___"We put together a revival team that is so diverse. But we're meeting together in the same room twice a month working and praying together. There's no dissension, no talk of controversy," Denison said, characterizing the effort as "pure" ministry.
___Denison initially contacted AnGel Ministries more than a year ago to determine if Lotz, the daughter of renowned evangelist Billy Graham, would be interested in speaking to Christian women in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
___"Every time I had heard her, I thought, 'This is what our women need to hear,'" she said. "She calls women to a deeper level of commitment--not only in drawing close to God through Bible study and prayer, but also going out in service.
___"I felt we needed to give Anne as large an audience as possible. I didn't have in mind just our church, but rather making it a communitywide event involving women from a number of churches."
___When she called, Denison learned that Lotz had been discussing with her staff a shift in ministry focus. She wanted to work with other respected leaders in women's ministry to put together a series of inter-denominational arena events that participants could attend free of charge.
___"God had laid the same vision on both our hearts," Denison said. "It was a confirmation to both of us that we were on the right track."
___When Denison started putting together the local steering committee, she discovered that same sense of shared vision and common purpose. A luncheon was scheduled last fall to introduce the idea to Dallas-area Christian women, and it drew more than 600 participants.
___As a part of spiritual preparation for the May 5-6 revival meeting, the local steering team has scheduled two prayer rallies with conference leader Beth Evans of Raleigh, N.C.
___The rallies are slated for March 30 at Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, at Northwest Highway and the North Dallas Tollway, and March 31 at McKinney Memorial Bible Church in Fort Worth at South Hulen and Briarhaven. Both events begin at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m.
