Texas reunion planned for Glorieta again
___Bible study, prayer times, recreational opportunities and more than 100 conferences all are part of the second Texas Baptist Family Reunion, to be held July 1-7 at Glorieta Conference Center near Santa Fe, N.M.
___Sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Texas, the week-long event will include morning conferences, evening worship services and special activities for all ages.
___BGCT Executive Director Charles Wade will lead daily morning Bible studies. General morning sessions for youth will feature Bible study leader Matt Cook and praise leaders Sean Allen and Jamie Dudley, all from Truett Theological Seminary in Waco.
___Evening worship services will feature messages by Albert Reyes, president of Hispanic Baptist Theological School in San Antonio, and Duane Brooks, pastor of Tallowood Baptist Church of Houston.
___Phillip Smith, minister of music at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Austin, will be the worship leader. Other featured musicians are "The Attaways" from Argyle, Don McCall and Myla McClinton.
___On July 4, a special Independence Day celebration will include dinner on the grounds, games and entertainment for all ages.
___Special-interest conferences are designed for couples, parents, youth and grandparents, in addition to general conferences for individual spiritual development and church leadership. Chat rooms are offered for single parents, single adults, parents of divorced children and individuals coping with the death of a spouse. Eleven breakout sessions will be offered in Spanish.
___Conference topics range from "Family Money Management" and "Seven Habits of Effective Families" to "Developing a Healthy Church Family."
___Recreational opportunities include hiking, horseback riding, miniature golf, paddle boats and sightseeing in historic Santa Fe.
___On-campus hotel rates range from $61 to $87 a night. The charge for guests in off-campus or leased properties is $17 per day for those age 13 and older and $8.50 per day for children ages 3-12.
___Day care and child care are available at no cost to participants, but reservations are required. Teenagers will participate in a specialized youth track.
