Beeville Children's Home names Haag
___BEEVILLE--Jerry Haag has been elected president of South Texas Children's Home.
___Haag currently serves as administrative pastor for Shades Mountain Baptist Church in

Birmingham, Ala.
___He is a graduate of Baylor University, with both a bachelor's degree and a master of business administration degree. He also holds a doctor of philosophy degree in finance and real estate from the University of Texas at Arlington.
___Haag is a certified financial planner and has served on the faculties of two universities.
___"His commitment to the call of the Lord is exemplary both in faith and works," said John Weber Jr. of San Antonio, chairman of the board. "He feels an unequivocal call to ministry at South Texas Children's Home."
___Haag has a unique connection to the children's home because he is the son-in-law of Homer Hanna, interim president and longtime executive staff member at the Texas Baptist agency. Haag is married to Hanna's daughter, Christi, who lived on the Boothe campus with her family and graduated from Pettus High School.
___Haag will begin his work May 1.
