___bluebull McCown and Kenley honored. Palmer McCown and Paul Kenley were honored April 17 as outstanding alumni of Hardin-Simmons University's Logsdon School of Theology. Both were presented plaques by Vernon Davis, dean of the Logsdon School. McCown is director of Baptist Student Ministries at Hardin-Simmons. Kenley is pastor of Baptist Temple in Houston.
___bluebull Warren to ETBU. Mark Warren has been named vice president for student services at East Texas Baptist University. He has been the university's dean of student services the last two years.
___bluebull Castro named dean. Juan Castro has been named dean of the Fred Hale School of Business at East Texas Baptist University. A professor at the Baptist school since last August, Castro previously was a vice president of Hibernia National Bank in New Orleans.
___bluebull Three to receive honorary degrees. Howard Payne University will present honorary doctorates to Mary Carpenter of Waco, Michael Gonzales of Dallas and Mary Scott Nabers of Austin during commencement ceremonies May 6.
___bluebull Senior adult hymn sing set. Dallas Baptist University will present its 12th annual Norvell Slater Senior Adult Hymn Sing Friday, April 28, at 1:30 p.m. Opening music will be provided by the DBU Chorale. The event is free and will take place in Burg Center on the campus. For details, call (214) 333-5236.
___bluebull DBU honors Pudiate. Rochunga Pudiate, president of Bibles for the World, received the honorary doctor of divinity degree from Dallas Baptist University during spring commencement ceremonies April 14.
