Ministers' wives pour out blessings

___"A Tea Time Blessing" turned into a life-changing experience, according to women attending the 11th annual Texas Baptist Ministers' Wives Fellowship at Mount Lebanon

___One of the participants, who confided to the outgoing Second Vice President Beverly Brown that her life had been changed, said: "When I came here, I was tired of being a pastor's wife. Now, I'm renewed, and I'm going back to what God has called me to do."

to change church members' attitudes.
___"Invite them over for a tea party. They'll think differently about you," she said. "And take a pot of tea and a flower when you visit shut-ins."
___The retreat for ministers' wives is co-sponsored by Texas Woman's Missionary Union and the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
___The ministers' wives presented a gift in appreciation to one of the retreat's founders, Joy Phillips Fenner, executive director-treasurer of Texas WMU since 1980. Fenner will retire next year.
___Throughout the retreat, the women were encouraged to make the most of the gifts God has given them.
___"Your churches may expect certain things of you, and you may expect things of yourselves, but be yourselves and be what God ordained you to be," urged Charles Wade in his first greeting to the group since becoming BGCT executive director.
___Wade's wife, Rosemary, gave each of the participants a set of wildflower note cards created by Tom Brannon, former director of the BGCT communications office. Each of the women also received a pearl necklace donated by a jewelry company.
