Texans in World Changers. Four students from Texas have been chosen to serve this year as summer missionaries with World Changers, a student ministry of the North American Mission Board. They are David Barron of Flower Mound, Paul Box of Waxahachie, Josh Irwin of Fort Worth and Rusty Selman of Wichita Falls.

Richmond taps Ballenger. Former missionary Isam Ballenger will become acting faculty dean at Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, Va., June 1, filling a post vacated by Thomas Halbrooks, who became president of Colgate Rochester Divinity School/Crozer Theological Seminary in Rochester, N.Y. Ballenger, 64, will act as dean for an indefinite period while the seminary seeks administrative and faculty replacements, said President Thomas Graves.

Midwestern dean resigns. Jim Cogdill has resigned as vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo. Interim President Michael Whitehead told trustees Cogdill will pursue evangelistic and church-growth opportunities. Cogdill was a central figure in a trustee investigation last summer that eventually led to the firing of seminary President Mark Coppenger over issues related to "misappropriation of anger."

Maryland/Delaware names executive. The Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware's General Mission Board has named David Lee as the convention's new executive director. Lee succeeds Charles Barnes, who retired from the post March 31.

Texans on SBC-related programs. Texans scheduled to appear on the various programs held in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention in June include: Al Meredith, pastor of Wedgwood Baptist Church in Fort Worth, at the SBC Pastors' Conference June 12; Ken Freeman, evangelist from San Antonio, at the SBC Pastors' Conference June 12; Rodney Gage, evangelist from Fort Worth, at the SBC Pastors' Conference June 12; Laura Borrego, National Acteens Panelist from LaPorte, will participate throughout the Woman's Missionary Union annual meeting June 11-12; Jeane Law of Lubbock, president of Texas WMU, will preside at the morning session of the WMU annual meeting June 12.
