Five added to BGCT missions staff
___Five ministers have been added to the staff of the Baptist General Convention of Texas State Missions Commission.
___bluebull Paul Atkinson has been named growth and new work consultant in the Bible study/discipleship division.
___Since 1996, Atkinson has been director of church development and growth for Golden Triangle Baptist Association in Southeast Texas. Previously, he was a staff minister at churches in Texas and New Mexico, Baptist Student Union director at the University of Colorado and a missionary to India and Eastern Europe.
___He is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
___He and his wife, Susan, have two children, Elissa Anne and Alan Paul.
___bluebull Dickie Dunn has been named single and married young adult consultant in the Bible study/discipleship division.
___Dunn has been minister of education at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas since 1986. He also has been a staff minister at churches in Texas and California.
___He is a graduate of Louisiana College in Pineville and Southwestern Seminary.
___He and his wife, DeRema, have three children, Dawn Denel Prater, Dannah Rogers and Derek Dunn.
___bluebull Randell Gilchrist has been appointed East Texas regional church starting consultant in the commission's Church Starting Center.
___Gilchrist has been pastor of First Baptist Church in LaPorte since 1988. Previously, he was pastor of a church in Arizona and staff minister for churches in Missouri and Texas.
___He is a graduate of Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Okla., and Southwestern Seminary.
___He and his wife, Connie Larie, are parents of two children, Andrew Ryan and Allison Renee.
___bluebull Jane Wilson has been elected youth consultant in the Bible study/discipleship division.
___Wilson has been interim youth consultant since 1999. Before that, she was special projects coordinator for the Bible study/discipleship division and a staff minister for churches in Texas and Louisiana.
___She is a graduate of Baylor University in Waco and Southwestern Seminary.
___bluebull Abe Zabaneh has been elected Gulf Coast regional church starting consultant in the church starting center.
___Zabaneh has been minister of missions at First Baptist Church in Tyler since 1995. Previously, he was minister of missions or mission pastor for churches in Texas.
___He is a graduate of LeTourneau University in Longview and Southwestern Seminary.
