SBC to elect president, consider business items
___ORLANDO--Here are highlights of the 2000 Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting, to be held in Orlando June 13-14:
___bluebull Tuesday morning, June 13: Greetings by Florida Gov. Jeb Bush; introduction of motions and resolutions; committee on nominations report by David Fannin, pastor of Nassau Bay Baptist Church in Houston; Executive Committee report; praise and worship led by Todd Bell, minister of music and worship at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano; president's address by Paige Patterson.
___bluebull Tuesday afternoon, June 13: Introduction of motions and reporting proposed resolutions; Executive Committee report; election of officers; LifeWay Christian Resources report; seminary reports; Baptist World Alliance report; benediction by Russell Kaemmerling, member of Southwest Baptist Church in DeSoto.
___bluebull Tuesday evening, June 13: Opening prayer by E.L. Pennington, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Malakoff; election of officers; previously scheduled business; reporting of proposed resolutions; International Mission Board report and presentation; benediction by Jim Richards, executive director of Southern Baptists of Texas Convention and member of First Baptist Church of Euless.
___bluebull Wednesday morning, June 14: Woman's Missionary Union report; election of officers; scheduled business; Baptist Faith & Message report by Adrian Rogers, pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, Tenn.; resolutions committee first report; committee on committees report; Annuity Board report; convention message by Bailey Smith, evangelist.
