___HOUSTON--Every weekday, about 150 men are released from Texas prisons. The problems of aftercare--helping ex-convicts return to society and keep from returning to prison--was a key topic at the seventh annual Restorative Justice Ministry Convention in Houston April 28-29.

Allison follows Powell at Baylor Health Care System
___ DALLAS--Baylor Health Care System leader Boone Powell Jr. is turning over the reigns of the Baptist institution to his longtime colleague, Joel Allison.
___Allison has been elected president and chief executive officer of the system.
___Trustees named Powell to a new post, chairman of the Dallas-based system, which has facilities across North Texas.

San Antonio's Manor passes property to First Mexican

___SAN ANTONIO--Contrary to popular belief, the ministry of Manor Baptist Church in San Antonio has not died. It merely has transformed into something new. The church is conveying its property to First Mexican Baptist Church, a congregation that was landlocked in a historic section of the city.

'Mainstream' Baptists agree to form national network

___ATLANTA--Southern Baptists opposed to the potential "fundamentalist domination" of churches and state Baptist conventions have formed the Network of Mainstream Baptists to strengthen their cause.
___Slightly more than 100 representatives from 15 states participated in a "mainstream Baptist consultation" in Atlanta April 25-26.
