Texans pray in Egypt
___By Ken Camp
___Texas Baptist Communications
___Ten Texas Baptists conducted a prayerwalk in Egypt last month, asking God to work in two cities that virtually have been untouched by the Christian gospel.
___Joe Bruce, projects director of Texas Partnerships with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, accompanied a discovery team of nine students from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary on the trip to Egypt's Sinai peninsula.
___Texas Partnerships is encouraging Baptists throughout the state to participate in a prayer partnership for the unreached Bedouin people of Egypt.
___This is part of a strategy to enlist specific Texas Baptist churches and associations to adopt unreached people groups for prayer. Other groups are the Bengali Muslims and the Sundanese of Indonesia.
___The Texas Baptists prayed for specific needs as they walked through the streets of two Gulf Coast cities in which there are no Christian churches and no known Christians.
___"We were invited into some homes," Bruce said. "The women taught English phrases and choruses to the kids and women there. We were impressed by the friendliness and hospitality of the people. It was a privilege to walk among them and pray for their needs."
