Nine faculty members of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor were approved for promotion by the university board of trustees. Teachers promoted were: Carolyn Allemand, assistant professor in modern foreign languages; Amy Bawcom, assistant professor in English; Candy Carlile, professor in education; Cliffa Foster, associate professor in exercise and sports science; Helen Kwiatakowski, assistant professor in art; Caia McCullar, professor in music; David Roland, professor in education; David Sloan, associate professor in education; and Joseph Tabarlet, associate professor in mass communications.

Roy Davidson, 70, June 10 in Atlanta, Ga. Davidson, an emeritus Southern Baptist missionary to Malawi, Botswana and Swaziland, was appointed in 1965 with his wife, Patsy. He served as a church developer in Malawi until 1975. The family transferred to Botswana in 1975, where he served as a church developer and mission chairman until 1983. The Davidsons were the first Southern Baptist missionaries assigned to work in Swaziland in 1983, when he began serving as an English-language evangelist, as well as a professor and director of the seminary center. Prior to missionary appointment, Davidson was pastor of several Texas churches. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Guy, Gill and and Gay; and one daughter, Gwen Schmidt.

Eunice Bradshaw, 94, April 29 in New Braunfels. She and her first husband, Milton Leach, were appointed by the Home Mission Board in 1944, after serving 22 years in pastorates throughout South Texas. They served with the language missions department to Spanish-speaking people in Texas and New Mexico until retirement in 1965. She is survived by her husband, Charles Bradshaw; two sons, Milton and Charles Leach; and two daughters, Dorothy Salser and Hattie Welch.
