Lewis Adkison, after 50 years in the ministry, 42 years as a pastor in Colorado with 32 years as pastor of Circle Drive Church in Colorado Springs, Colo. He is the former pastor of Westland Heights Church in Fort Worth.

Ron Etheredge, minister of music at First Church in Bryan for 16 years. He will become a chaplain at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. He and his wife, Kay, also have served First Church in Plainview, First Church in San Angelo, Crescent Park in Odessa, Eastern Hills Church in Garland and First Church in Rylie.

___Deaths
___
Lucy Bales, June 14 in Temple. Bales was the wife of a Texas pastor, Glenn Bales, for 40 years prior to his death. A son, Tommy, also preceded her in death. She also was a secretary for First Church in Paris, education director for a Mississippi church as well as Connell Church in Fort Worth, was a secretary in the BGCT training union department for 16 years, and also the Annuity Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. She finished her career with 13 years at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Dusek; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

N.R. Barr, 94, June 25 in Waco. Barr taught public school and was pastor of small churches in Texas and Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Margaret; his second wife of 17 years, Bevrie; and sons, David and Marshall. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Sherrod; and two sisters, Kathryn Crouch and Esther Cloud.

Emmanuel Church in Houston recently honored Milton Bailey for his 64 years in the ministry. He was licensed and ordained at Emmanuel and is in his fourth year as the church's pastor. He has been pastor of 13 churches and interim in 30 churches. He also has served as a board member of Memorial Hospital, was a member of the committee that initiated the establishment of Houston Baptist University and was chairman of the registration committee when the Southern Baptist Convention met in Houston in the 1960s.

A youth group reunion is set for Aug. 4-6 at First Church in Wharton for those involved in the youth department during the tenure of Dale Pogue. Pogue came to the church in 1970, serving as minister education, music and youth. In 1973, he was named associate pastor and pastor in 1974. He served the church 12 years in total. Former youth of the church are urged to come with their families to be a part of the celebration. Guests are urged to bring photos, instruments and songbooks. For information, call (979) 532-4295.
