Texas Baptist Family Reunion Gallery
About 1,400 Texas Baptists gathered at Glorieta, N.M., July 1-6 for the second Texas Baptist Family Reunion, sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The week of conferences, preaching and worship also featured a special Fourth of July celebration. Participants of all ages gathered around Glorieta Lake for a barbeque dinner of brisket, chicken and sausage prepared by Texas Baptist Men's Top 'O Texas disaster relief unit. Families spread out blankets on the grounds, while children played a variety of games such as gunny-sack races, egg toss and three-legged races. The Attaways, a family gospel singing group from Argyle, presented a concert of religious and patriotic tunes.
