THE TEXAS BAPTIST ALL-STATE Choir, Band and Strings, under the direction of James Moore from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, perform at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. Two performances there this summer were among several concerts that followed a week of rehearsals, Bible studies, worship and recreation at Dallas Baptist University. with his wife, Elizabeth, in Wagoner, Okla. A home missionary and pastor in the Northwest, Burns also served 12 years as editor of the Baptist New Mexican in Albuqueruque, N.M. He was instrumental in establishing many of the leading Baptist churches and associations in the Northwest, including the first Southern Baptist mission in Canada.

Creed to assist BJC. Brad Creed, professor of church history and former dean at Baylor University's Truett Seminary, will serve this fall as a scholar-in-residence at the Baptist Joint Committee in Washington, D.C. He will spearhead educational activities at the religious-liberty agency and engage in speaking and writing projects on Baptist principles and religious liberty. He is on a brief sabbatical from Truett.
