Next step planned for shoe drive
___Buckner Orphan Care International is seeking volunteers to take a second step in the Shoes for Orphan Souls campaign by traveling to Russia, Romania or China to place shoes on the feet of orphans.
___Through the program, churches and individuals across the state are providing new shoes for needy orphans. These donated shoes will be hand-delivered in October and November on trips called Journey of the Heart.
___Journey of the Heart trips are scheduled for Oct. 13-24 in China, Nov. 2-12 in Romania and Nov. 9-19 in Russia.
___Anyone interested in learning more about the trips is invited to attend a general information meeting Aug. 31 at Buckner Adoption and Maternity Services, 4830 Samuell Blvd. in Dallas from 7 to 9 p.m. The general meeting will be followed by three orientation sessions detailing information for those who choose to participate.
