Texas students carried God's love
around the globe this summer
___More than 300 young adults participated in Texas Baptists' student missions program this summer, serving in a wide variety of assignments as close to home as Dallas and as far away as Australia. The students were recruited and trained through the Baptist Student Ministry program of the Baptist
General Convention of Texas.
___Two-thirds of the summer missionaries served overseas. Some served 10-week assignments, while others served shorter terms of two to four weeks.
___The Texas students reported leading 1,132 people to faith in Jesus Christ through their summer ministries.
___Summer missions changes the lives of students, said Brenda Sanders, student missions consultant with the BGCT.
___"Not only do they experience God on a deeper level, they see how he is accomplishing his global purpose and how they can be a part of it. They can no longer look at the world in the same way"
___Sanders thanked Texas Baptists for supporting the student missions program.
___"We are raising up the next generation of missionaries, prayer warriors and mission supporters," she said. "I believe these students will be leading us in the days to come to share God's message with the world."
