Four elected to BGCT staff roles
___Employment of four new staff members was approved by the Baptist General Convention of Texas Administrative Committee Sept. 8:
___ Jeannie Bordovsky was named director of information systems in the Baptist Building. She will supervise the building's computer systems, networking and related functions.
___She has been user support manager, network administrator and a computer technology trainer with the BGCT since 1996 and has worked with the convention since 1994. Previously, she was a programmer with Texas Utilities.
___Bordovsky and her husband, Terry, are members of First Baptist Church of Ferris, where she has been a children's Sunday School teacher, children's director and children's choir leader. They are the parents of three children.
___ Cecil Deadman was named associate director of Mission Service Corps. His major responsibilities will include recruiting, training and supporting Mission Service Corps volunteers, as well as working with Baptist ministries using the service of volunteers.
___Deadman has been pastor of Avondale Baptist Church in Sweetwater since 1989. He previously served East Cisco Baptist Church in Cisco, First Baptist Church of Follett, East Side Baptist Church of Comanche and five Oklahoma churches.
___He has been a state field coordinator for Mission Service Corps, working with the bivocational/small church development department of the BGCT.
___A former student at Howard Payne University, Deadman is a graduate of Andersonville Baptist College in Georgia. He has been active in denominational life, including service on the BGCT Executive Board and as moderator of Sweetwater Baptist Association, Cisco Baptist Association and Comanche Baptist Association.
___Deadman and his wife, Joye, are the parents of three adult children.
___ Steve Seaberry was named equipping coordinator for Texas Partnerships, a new position approved by the Administrative Committee. He will train participants in partnership missions projects in matters such as cultural awareness and evangelism and ministry methods.
___Since 1983, he has been a missionary in West Africa, working most recently as cluster coordinator for the Southern Baptist International Mission Board's work in the region. The group of missionaries with whom he worked opened new work among 260 unreached people groups in the last three years.
___Seaberry is a former band director in Justin and Denton. He is a graduate of North Texas State University, the University of Illinois at Champaign and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
___He and his wife, Anne, are the parents of three children.
___ Ferrell Foster was named newswriter in the BGCT communications office. He will be a frequent contributor of news and feature articles to the Baptist Standard and will assist other media outlets in telling the story of Texas Baptist ministries.
___A native Texan, Foster is former editor of the Illinois Baptist and former director of the Illinois Baptist State Assocation's communications department. He was managing editor of the Marshall News Messenger before going to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984.
___While in seminary, Foster served as director of public relations. In addition to his degree from New Orleans Seminary, Foster is a graduate of East Texas State University.
___He and his wife, Trese, are the parents of five children, as well as of one child who is deceased. The Fosters are members of First Baptist Church of Athens.
___He has been a contract worker with the BGCT since July.
